My Role Model

My Role Model

I Idolize my Mom. Mom’s are caring, they always think what’s
best for their children. For example, someone in the family is sick she is the
first person who’s gonna take care of you. I know some moms are very strict
but don’t forget they still care for you, like for example you hurt yourself and
your mom saw it and she’s gonna be mad at you then later on she’s gonna come
to you and treat your wound because some moms show their love for you in
different ways. Caring is not always when your sick or you hurt yourself,
Mom’s care about your feelings. That’s why you can’t hide your feeling from
them because she is your mom she knows what you feel.

Mom’s are strong, they always find ways on how to feed
you and your siblings. For example, you need money for school projects
your Mom is gonna find ways on how she’s gonna get money from especially
when your mom is a single parent. They are so strong that I am here at a very
big school with kind students writing this paragraph, why is my learning
connected to them being strong? because she and my dad is the reason on
why I am here. They are strong because they discipline you in the proper
way and that’s the reason on why your succesful right now!
Because not all moms can discipline their children in the
proper way some of them kinda loses it.

Mom’s are selfless in short, mom’s will do everything for you even when their
life is needed.  Mom’s will give everything to you unless it’s a bad thing. That’s
why I idolize moms because they more often use the word “You” than the
word “ I”.

It start with us!

This is a movie that me and Bethan created. The movie is about the importance of why should we put our rubbish in the bin and on what will happen if we don't. We have fun on making this movie. I got lots of bloopers honestly.

Justifying an argument

WALT: justify our ideas using conjunctions

Justifying an argument
Check out the two paragraphs and then answer the questions below

Author A:
I strongly believe that students need school uniforms. Students need school uniforms
because they show people what school they go to. All of the students look tidy because they are
in the same school and its like free advertising because when people see the uniform they
think of the school. So yeah, school uniforms are good.

Author B:
I firmly believe that school uniforms should be banned. School uniforms are costly and
they put a lot of pressure on the student’s caregivers. Children need new school uniforms
every time they grow and change schools. With some items of clothing costing a hundred
dollars or more, the cost involved in buying a new school uniform is huge! It is particularly
difficult for families with two or more students, as it is hard enough to feed a large family let
alone buy an expensive school uniform every year for each child. School uniforms should be
banned for the benefit of parents everywhere!

Which argument do you think is stronger?
I think Author B’s reason is much stronger than Author A’s reason because
on Author B’s reason is focused not only to the students but also to their families.

What vocabulary do the authors use that you would like to steal?
I would like to steal the part when Author B said that School Uniforms are
costly and they put a lot of pressure on the student’s caregivers.

What did you like about the paragraphs?
They focused on different topics, they both have strong and complete sentences.

What do you think the authors could improve on?
I think there’s nothing the author’s could improve on because there oppinions are strong
and it make sense.

Highlight the signposts (topic sentences) the authors use in purple.

Highlight the conjunctions or connecting words (for, because, and, but…) that the
authors use in blue.
